Sessions every 4 to 8 weeks
You arrive freshly shaved. The laser targets the pigment in the hair root; over the next two to three weeks the treated hairs shed on their own.

Less hair every cycle
Each session catches the hairs in their growth phase. After five to eight treatments most clients reach 80 to 95 percent reduction.

Direct answers to the questions we hear most.
How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?
Most clients need a minimum of five treatments, and finer hair or darker skin can take six to eight. Only 20 to 30 percent of hairs are in the growth phase at any one time, so each session treats a different batch. Body areas are spaced six to eight weeks apart and facial areas four to six weeks apart. Bellair sells packages of three or five sessions, and every package is valid for 24 months from purchase.
Does laser hair removal work on dark skin?
Yes. Bellair uses two lasers so the treatment can be matched to your skin tone. The LightSheer diode laser is best for light to moderately pigmented skin. The CoolGlide laser penetrates deeper and bypasses pigment in the skin, which makes it safer for darker skin types. Your free consultation confirms which laser suits you and how many sessions to plan for.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most people find it very tolerable. The LightSheer uses a patented ChillTip that cools the skin continuously during treatment, and sessions on small areas such as the upper lip or underarms take only a few minutes. Afterwards the skin can be red and bumpy for a short time, which is normal.
How do I prepare for a treatment?
Shave the area on the day of your appointment: the laser needs the hair root but not the hair above the skin. Do not wax, tweeze, thread or have electrolysis for four weeks before a session, and avoid sun exposure or a fresh tan, because hair can be treated more aggressively on untanned skin.
What should I expect after a session?
Redness and small bumps are normal right after treatment. Protect the area from the sun and avoid heat, exercise and saunas for 24 to 48 hours. Over the next two to three weeks the treated hairs shed on their own, and there is very little regrowth until the next hair cycle, which is when your next session is booked.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
The laser damages the root of the hair, so treated hairs do not grow back. Most clients reach 80 to 95 percent reduction after a full course, and some are happy to stop at 50 to 60 percent. If you have a hormone imbalance, occasional maintenance sessions may be needed.
How much does laser hair removal cost in Toronto?
At Bellair, packages start at $138 for three upper lip sessions and run to $6,738 for a five session full body package, with the current sale taking 30 percent off every package. Underarms start at $275, bikini at $275, Brazilian at $468 and full legs at $908 for three sessions. All packages are valid for 24 months and can be paid with 0% financing.
Does laser hair removal help with ingrown hairs?
Yes. The laser does not create ingrown hairs, and if you already get them, treating the area clears them because the hair that causes them stops growing back.
